Description:
A solar tracking system widely applied in PV panel and it is a device that orients a payload toward the sun. Payloads can be photovoltaic panels, reflectors, lenses or other optical devices. Solar tracking system is used to increases overall power collection efficiency. Solar tracker’s advantages have been shown in solar plants in world. Different solutions have been provided to meet different needs.
Types:
Solar tracking system includes, single axis tracker, tilt single axis solar tracker, fixed solar tracker and solar dual axis tracker.
- 1. Linear Single Axis Solar Tracker:
- Single axis tracker can track sun in east-west direction and can only track the azimuth of sun. The solar tracking system includes, mounting bracket for solar cell panel, horizontal shaft, rotation drive mechanism, wind speed detection device and tracking controller.
- Its features and application:
- Single axis tracker is characterized by simple structure and low cost. It is suitable for lower latitudes with high sun height angle. Its power generation efficiency is 30% higher than fixed sun panel tracking. Single axis solar tracking system can be installed at ground level or roof.
- 2. Solar Dual Axis Tracker:
- Dual axis solar tracker is composed of vertical shaft in south-north direction and several horizontal shafts fixed on vertical shaft. Each small square of solar module can vertically rotate around vertical shaft and horizontally rotate around horizontal shaft. The solar tracking system is composed of horizontal shaft, vertical shaft, putter in east-west direction, putter of sun height angle, connecting bar, bracket, bracket for modules, sun tracking probe, probe of wind velocity and controller.
Its features and application:
- Compared with single axis tracker, dual axis solar tracker has higher power generation efficiency and higher precision as it can realize dual –axis tracking. Its productivity is 45% higher than fixed tracking system. Dual axis solar tracker can resist wind well, and it can be installed at roof or ground.
